What a proposal needs
A clear proposal identifies a need, presents practical recommendations, and explains the expected benefit. Headings make the document easy to scan.
A useful structure
- Purpose: explain why you are writing.
- Current situation: identify the main need.
- Recommendations: present realistic actions.
- Expected benefits: show why the actions are worthwhile.
Task
Your college wants students to use the library more often. Write a proposal suggesting improvements.
Recommendations
The college should extend evening opening hours and create a quiet group-study area. It could also offer short research workshops at the start of each term.
Expected benefits
These changes would make the library useful to students with different schedules and encourage them to develop stronger independent-study skills.
